Heritage Academy Family Engagement Plan
What is Title I?
Heritage Academy Elementary School is identified as a Title I School as a part of Every Student Succeed Act (ESSA). Title 1 is a federal grant that was designed to ensure that all children receive a high-quality education and reach grade level proficiency. Title I programs must be based on effective means of improving student achievement and include strategies to support Parent Engagement. All Title I schools must jointly develop a written Parent and Family Engagement Plan with parents.
School Parent Compact
As part of this plan, Heritage Academy and our families will develop a School-Parent Compact, which is an agreement that parents, teachers, and students will develop that explains how parents and teachers will work together to make sure all our students reach grade level standards. The Compact will be reviewed and updated annually based on feedback from parents, students, and teachers at various times during the year. The School-Parent Compacts are kept in the Parent Resource Center located in Room 120.
